UPPER SCHOOL
Electives and Athletics
Interscholastic athletics are an integral component of Ross School’s Wellness program, and there are more than 90 electives available to students in Grades 9–12.
We foster a common educational experience while also affording students the freedom to pursue their individual passions. This approach not only prepares them for future success but also fosters a well-rounded and adaptable approach to knowledge that will serve them throughout their lives.
We offer a wide range of electives and advanced courses that enable students to pursue their passions.
At Ross School, athletics is an integral part of a holistic education. From early childhood through high school, students engage in physical activities that build not only strength and coordination, but also confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
Our athletics program supports students at every stage of development, offering a wide range of opportunities—from skill-building and recreational play to competitive team sports. More than just games and practices, athletics at Ross fosters school spirit and a strong sense of community. It encourages meaningful connections across grade levels and with other schools in the wider community.
Whether learning the basics or training for high-level competition, Ross student-athletes are supported in becoming healthy, confident individuals who value discipline, collaboration, and personal well-being—for life.
Students are required to participate in at least one season of an extracurricular team sport in Grades 9–12, though many choose to participate and develop their athletic skills beyond that requirement.
