Art Fusion

Creativity and expression are the main focus in this major. Campers explore the works of Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Goldsworthy, Alexander Calder, Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, Leonardo da Vinci and Renaissance artists, and Claude Monet and the Impressionists. Through a combination of drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and ceramics, campers discover their artistic abilities with the guidance of professional artists.

Campers explore and express themselves in the medium of clay under the guidance of a ceramic artist who teaches both coil and slab building techniques. Campers also learn to throw pottery on a wheel and to trim and glaze pieces. They develop their own throwing styles; investigate traditional forms and experiment with new ones; and explore surface design, glazing, and firing processes. At the end of weeks 4 and 8, camper work is put on display at the end-of-session extravaganza.

Culinary Arts

Campers explore their gastronomic potential under the guidance of a professionally trained chef. Hands-on workshops incorporate basic culinary and baking skills, healthy eating, and flavor expansion. The session emphasizes the use of fresh and seasonal ingredients from our local East End farms. The appetizing results inspire a respect for our food as campers learn to prepare it safely and sustainably.

This major requires campers be at least 8 years old.

Fashion Design

Strike a pose. Learning the basics of needle and thread, campers express themselves through creative fashion design and share their ideas and visions via the runway in this Project Runway–inspired major. They design patterns and use sewing machines to create the pieces they envision, referencing historical periods and fashion styles for inspiration. At the end of the session, campers show off their creations to family and friends in a runway-style fashion show.

This major requires campers be at least 8 years old.

This major requires a minimum two-week commitment starting week 1, 3, 5, or 7. Please make sure to choose the appropriate consecutive week (2, 4, 6, or 8) to complete the session.
