Academy Award–winning filmmaker Doug Blush held a workshop on campus this week for students who attended the 2018 Field Academy course in Bali. The purpose of the travel study was to challenge students to document their experiences through photo and video. Doug and acclaimed photojournalists Ron Haviv and Michael Robinson Chavez helped students to advance their production skills as well as craft photo and video essays on Balinese culture.
This week, Doug returned to campus for a hands-on workshop in film production with the students. They practiced video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, engaged in critiques of their films, and refined and finalized their projects. The day ended with a screening of the photos and films captured during the Field Academy courses in Bali, France, and Iceland.
