Ross School hosted its annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day at the Lower School on April 4. Hugs, smiles, and laughter filled the Field House as students joined their families and guests, some from as far away as the Philippines and Germany. The happy groups mingled and browsed the aisles at the Ross School Book Fair and enjoyed baked goods and refreshments courtesy of the Café.
Visitors were then treated to a concert featuring songs and performances by students in grades pre-nursery through 6, including the Lower School orchestra’s version of “Beethoven’s Lullaby.” Families and friends were invited to sing along with the students as the choir closed with “Here Comes the Sun” by George Harrison and “This Land Is Your Land” by Woody Guthrie.
Afterward, guests accompanied students back to their respective classrooms, with many stopping off to see the new baby goats and other woolly and plumed residents of the farm. Grandparents and special friends sat in on lessons, toured the campus, and departed with new warm memories of a delightful day with their families and loved ones.
