The 2011–12 Early Childhood Enrichment Program is an extended-day program for Ross School Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten students. The program is divided into two 16-week sessions, and runs Monday through Friday from 1–3:15PM. Three-day and five-day options are available. Pick-up time for the Early Childhood Enrichment Program is promptly at 3:15PM.
The Early Childhood Enrichment Program enrollment is limited in number of students per class. Classes are available on a first-come first-serve basis. This program is for Ross School students only.

 MONDAYSTheatre Arts Margaret Kestler  A child’s natural ability to play-act is supported in this class targeted specifically for the pre-schooler. Dressing up in costumes, enacting fantasies, making up stories and setting up scenes come naturally to this age group, and Margaret Kestler structures this class as a unique creative outlet for young thespians. |

 | TUESDAYS Photography and Service Shannon Timoney  Three and four year olds are open to the world around them, and a camera can capture unique images from their personal views. In this class, children look at their environment and see ways they can help: weeding, planting, painting and making art to display in areas that need it. They auction off or sell framed photographs by students to benefit a local charity, and make cards, pictures and ornaments for local organizations. Parents are asked to provide an inexpensive digital camera for their child to use in the class. This class has a $25 fee for additional materials. |

 WEDNESDAYSKids in the Kitchen Valerie Gatz  Growing gourmets have the opportunity to cook and have fun in the kitchen. They are introduced to cooking vocabulary and techniques, tools and utensils. They learn to safely stir and mix ingredients, how to whisk, pour, roll and cut and even how to place cookies and other foods on baking sheets or trays. From smoothies and pizzas to quesadillas and burritos, students prepare foods from a variety of cultures. This class has a $25 materials fee and is limited. |

 THURSDAYSAnimal Care Farmer Karen Day
Yoga For Kids Susan Verde  Animal Care Farmer Karen Day Animal educator Farmer Karen teaches students how to approach, groom, brush, care for and feed an animal. There are chickens, goats, rabbits, donkeys, ponies and horses. Students learn to distinguish among different breeds of chickens, and watch eggs hatch into baby chicks. Class time includes stories and discussions. A pony ride is included. Children are urged to bring rain boots and helmets. The animals leave after Thanksgiving and students move to Yoga for Kids.
Yoga For Kids Susan Verde Yoga for Kids tickles children’s funny bones as they wiggle, giggle and stretch their way through joyful afternoons. Susan Verde unleashes a barrel of techniques to teach mindfulness, compassion and conscious movement to children. Asanas, pranayama, aromatherapy, affirmations, meditation, crafts, puppetry, storytelling, nature studies and nutritious snacks are offered to create a variety of yoga-inspired experiences. |

 | FRIDAYS Tumble Bus Gymnastics Michelle Kennedy and Cathy Wallick  Children are natural gymnasts! Tumblebus gymnastics teachers Michelle Kennedy and Cathy Wallick teach basic gymnastics and tumbling. The class takes place in a unique setting—a large school bus! The tumblebus is fully equipped with equipment for tumbling and gymnastics. The program provides children with a safe, fun, educational and non-competitive environment. They will raise each child’s self-esteem and confidence and instill in them at an early age the importance of physical fitness. |

|  | CREATE A CLASS Custom design a class in the arts, media, languages or personal development and have it taught by one of our expert instructors or specialists. Four or more students must sign up.
