Tuition Assistance

Ross School is committed to finding and enrolling those students who best fit our admissions profile regardless of a family’s financial status. Tuition Assistance awards range from 10%–90% of the tuition costs. The Tuition Assistance Program takes into consideration factors that traditional financial aid models often do not incorporate, such as a sudden change in income, assets or liquidity. In the current economic climate, many families are facing challenges that are new to them. We encourage all families that are incurring problems affecting their ability to afford tuition to apply for tuition assistance. It is important that a family complete the process according to the time frame outlined below as there may not be enough funds to meet all demonstrated needs. As we move through the spring, there is a decreasing level of assistance available.

How to Apply for Tuition Assistance
We require all families seeking Tuition Assistance, regardless of the amount of assistance requested, to apply online at Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS). In order to be considered for Tuition Assistance, you must submit last year's tax return. TADS confidentially and impartially analyzes the information provided and recommends a tuition adjustment to the school. TADS processes the financial statements of more then 250,000 families each year and more than 550 colleges and independent schools use their services. In the case of separation, divorce, or parents who were never married, both natural parents are required to complete the process in order for their child to be considered for tuition assistance. Information is kept in the strictest confidence.

Deadline
Applicants for Tuition Assistance must apply by February 15 for first-round consideration. We begin to award Tuition Assistance in late February and continue the process until there are no longer funds available, at which time we begin a waitlist for assistance. Tuition Assistance is awarded on a first come, first served basis, although not everyone who applies will receive aid. Awards are for one year only and each family will need to complete this process annually.
